Time To Talk Day 2022: Mental Well-being Apps

This #TimeToTalk Day we want to encourage Healthcare Professionals to look after and talk about their mental health. We have listed some mobile apps below that can help improve your mental well-being. These can be recommended and discussed with friends, family and colleagues to help start a conversation about mental health.

Headspace is a science-backed app involving mindfulness and meditation, providing unique tools and resources to help reduce stress, build resilience, and aid better sleep. This app has a free version and users can upgrade at an additional cost. It is available on Android and IOS.

Mindshift uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to teach relaxation skills, help develop new ways of thinking, and suggest healthy activities. The app includes lots of tools, such as: a thought journal, chill zone with guided meditations, and a “quick relief” tool if you’re feeling overwhelmed. This app is free to all users and available on Android and IOS.

Unmind is a mental health platform that empowers users to improve their mental wellbeing. Using scientifically backed assessments, tools and training, users can measure and manage personal mental health needs, including tailored programmes designed to help with stress, sleep, coping, nutrition and many more. This app is available on Android and IOS.

Take a Break is a meditation app to let you quickly recharge. Listen to a 7-minute Work Break or 13-minute Stress Relief recording with or without music or nature sounds to help you relax. This app has a free version, but the user does have the option to upgrade at an additional cost. It is available on both Android and IOS.
